This free family-friendly event features trick-or-treating from decorated trunks, a thrilling haunted maze, and a costume contest for all ages. There'll also be yard games and yummy treats to keep everyone entertained. Don your best costume and make memories that last at Carthage's spooktacular Halloween celebration!
Gordonsville Halloween Bash
Calling all ghouls and goblins! Don't miss the annual Gordonsville Halloween Bash on October 31st! This spooky spectacular takes place on Main Street and features trick-or-treating, family fun, and a costume contest. Get ready for a frightfully good time!
William Walton Festival
William Walton Heritage Festival - Where you can experience good food, great shopping and outstanding entertainment while celebrating our heritage! On the last Saturday of September each year, the Historic Smith County Courthouse square is transformed to take you back in time. Experience live demonstrations of our early settler’s lives and hear the history of Smith County as performed in “character” of actual historical figures. Stroll Main Street and shop with local artisans and downtown merchants. Take part in kid and family friendly activities and attractions. Savor the many food choices. Enjoy live music by various artists performed from the steps of our historic courthouse. Come out and experience Smith County!

Defeated Creek Bluegrass Festival
Enjoy a toe-tappin' good time at the Defeated Creek Bluegrass Festival! This two-day event features live bluegrass music, dancers, delicious food, crafts, and a fun area for kids. It's a fundraiser for the Defeated Creek Volunteer Fire Department, so come out and support a good cause while enjoying some down-home fun!
